Bee Lincoln is a multifaceted figure in the underground scene, living his passion for music as a DJ, producer, label owner, event manager, and author. Electronic music has become his life’s work, grounded in both academic understanding and artistic perspective. He has been DJing for nearly two decades and has lived and worked in Berlin since 2017, where he runs his own label, “as usual.music,” featuring a roster of forward-thinking artists in the tech house and minimal genres. His music has been released on labels such as Innocent Music, Sagmen, Golden Gate Club Rec., Datagroove Rec., Antura, Hardcutz Rec., Tonkind, Lazerslut, Sibil.la Music, eMBi Music, the Japanese vinyl label Transit Rec., Questo Music, and on the ADE sampler from Pure Enjoyment Recording. He effortlessly transcends the boundaries between house, techno, and minimal, creating a distinctive and innovative style that fuses these genres. Groove is a central element in both his tracks and his sets, which he regularly presents in Berlin underground clubs, at festivals, and internationally. Growing up in southwestern Germany, near Switzerland and France, his musical development was shaped by raves in forests and fields before he entered his first club in 2000. He quickly established himself as an exceptional DJ, playing in virtually every club and venue in the region’s electronic music scene. As a resident at the legendary Exodus Parkhaus, he warmed up the crowd for big names like Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebling, Marco Carola, and many others. A new chapter began with his move to Berlin in 2009. Always active in the underground scene, he co-organized various event series in the following years. After the weekly Thursday slot at “Foreplay” at the +4Bar of the legendary Tresor club, “Hummmpday” (Arena Club, Wilde Renate) followed. Finally, in 2013, he founded his own music label “as usual.music”, still active today. Since 2017, “as usual.music” has focused on releasing a profound, groovy, and innovative sound in its various facets. This sound is presented by outstanding artists from surrounding labels as well as other renowned acts with a feel for contemporary underground club music. Influenced by the diverse facets of techno and house, the label combines the founder’s many years of experience in club life, performing, and music collecting with his extensive network. Following earlier releases and remixes on labels such as Neverending Rec. and Heatflow Rec., 2015 was an intensive year in the studio, significantly improving his skills. In addition to remixes for the Swiss vinyl label Questo?! Music, he launched new collaborations with producers like Miro Pajic and Jacob Phono on affiliated labels such as Tonkind Rec., Klangwild Rec., Schallbox Rec., Compute Music, and Zoned-Recordings. He was signed to Transit Records Kyoto for the “Transition EP” with his Japanese friend Ryoma Sasaki, which was released on vinyl in 2016. With his subtly developed, unique sound, he landed on labels such as Datagroove, Ben Teufel’s Antura Rec., Aney F.’s “Innocent Music,” eMBi Music, Pure Enjoyment Rec., and Golden Gate Club Rec., where he performs regularly. He has also played gigs at festivals like Fusion and Wilde Möhre, as well as in clubs in London, Moscow, Vienna, Zurich, Ljubljana, and Stockholm, and in countries including Japan, Mexico, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Morocco.
